Ajay Devgn marked a significant milestone on November 22, celebrating 33 years in the film industry as his debut movie, Phool Aur Kaante, reached its 33rd anniversary. Reflecting on his remarkable journey, Ajay shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, expressing gratitude to his fans and reminiscing about his career. He wrote, “From the entry in Phool Aur Kaante to everything I stand for today, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. For every clap, cheer and moments full of love, thank you always #33Years.” Alongside the note, he posted a picture of a showpiece depicting his iconic entry scene from the film.
Released in 1991, Phool Aur Kaante was directed by Kuku Kohli and featured a stellar cast, including Madhoo, Aruna Irani, Jagdeep, and Amrish Puri. Since then, Ajay Devgn has cemented his status as a celebrated actor and director. His most recent appearance was in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which has been a box-office success. Reprising his iconic role of police officer Bajirao Singham, Ajay has once again captivated audiences. This marks his third outing in the Singham franchise, following the original in 2011 and its sequel in 2014.
In a candid conversation with ANI, Ajay expressed his gratitude to fans and discussed the impact of the Singham franchise on Bollywood’s portrayal of police officers. “I am thankful to the audience for giving us so much love. For a long time, the police were always shown in a negative light in films. Singham and Gangaajal were among the first films to depict an ideal police officer. After that, it became a trend to make positive films about police,” he shared.
Singham Again, released during Diwali, boasts an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone. The movie faced stiff competition from Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 but continues to draw audiences, reinforcing Ajay Devgn’s enduring legacy in Indian cinema.
