After meeting four or five times to discuss the Kishore Kumar biography, Anurag Basu and Aamir Khan are enthralled with the director’s idea.
After wrapping up filming for Sitaare Zameen Par, which was directed by RS Prassana, Aamir Khan has been researching different topics in order to land his next major project. Aamir is currently exploring five films, according to an exclusive Pinkvilla scoop earlier this month. These include the Ujjwal Nikam biopic, Rajkumar Santoshi’s comedy Char Din Ki Zindagi, a superhero movie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming feature, and the follow-up to his beloved classic, Ghajini. Furthermore, Pinkvilla has exclusive knowledge that Aamir has added another movie to his list.
Aamir Khan and Anurag Basu have reportedly been talking about the Kishore Kumar biography for producer Bhushan Kumar, according to people familiar with the matter. “Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar are passionate about the Kishore Kumar biography and want to present it in the best possible light for the audience. Aamir Khan is a huge fan of Kishore Kumar as well, and he admired Basu’s idea to bring the legend to life in the production. A person with knowledge of the development stated, “The filmmaker has approached it very differently, and that’s what has fascinated Aamir the most.”
After four or five meetings so far, Anurag Basu and Aamir are optimistic about their future possibilities because everything is going well. “Aamir has considered up to six projects, each of which is in a distinct developmental stage. The following scripts for Ghajini 2, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Zoya Akhtar are under progress, but the scripts for the biopics of Kishore Kumar, Ujjwal Nikam, and Rajkumar Santoshi are locked. All of the movies have been well received by Aamir, who will decide on his next project by the end of the year. He will definitely work on three of the six projects in distinct timelines and may decide not to pursue the remaining three, the insider continued. There have been previous occasions when Basu has approached Aamir with a movie. Aamir and Ranbir Kapoor were supposed to star in a film that Basu was developing earlier in the pandemic, but things fell through at that time.
While everything is going on, Anurag Basu is filming an untitled love tale starring Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan, which is scheduled to be completed by April 2025. The Kishore Kumar biopic might begin production by the end of 2025 if he has Aamir’s OK by the end of this year. He will need some time to prepare for the period to be accurately depicted. Follow Pinkvilla to find out which of these six Aamir Khan would choose to work on after Sitaare Zameen Par.
