The makers of Akshay Kumar’s next ‘Khel Khel Mein’ released the first poster of the film on Tuesday. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Shashikant Sinha, and Ajay Rai, it is directed by Mudassar Aziz. The cast is quite interesting as Akshay is joined by the likes of Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. This comic drama is Taapsee and Akshay’s fourth film together, following ‘Naam Shabana’, ‘Mission Mangal’, and ‘Baby’.
‘Khel Khel Mein’ would be Akshay’s third release of the year, following ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Sarfira’. The film is hitting the screens as one of the big Independence Day releases this year. It will witness a box office clash with ‘Vedaa’ which is fronted by John Abraham, and ‘Stree 2’, which features Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead.
Rumours have been rife about the new release date of ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Various reports suggested that the makers were searching for a new release date, to avoid clashing with two other films. However, Akshay ended these rumours with his Instagram post where he shared the film’s poster and clarified that his film would be released on the day that was originally planned.
While sharing the poster of his film on Instagram, Akshay wrote, “Yaaron waala khel. Yaari waali image! Songs like “Baaje ke mahaul mein” Picture of Band Bajaane waali! Greetings to the largest family attraction of the year! Khel Khel Mein will be available in theaters on August 15, 2024. #KhelKhelMein#We’rePlaying (sic).”
‘Khel Khel Mein’ marks Fardeen Khan’s return to the big screen after a hiatus of 14 years. The actor was recently seen in the Netflix web-series ‘Heermandi’. However, he has been away from the film scene for a long time now. He had previously worked with Akshay in ‘Hey Baby’, which also starred Vidya Balan in the lead. Their on-screen bromance is expected to add more humour and excitement to the film.
