Anil Kapoor’s commanding on-screen presence needs no special introduction. After entertaining audiences with his performances in the Netflix series The Night Manager, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal, and the aerial actioner Fighter, he is set to appear in a new OTT project. The upcoming action drama titled Subedaar will be released on Prime Video, and the good news is that filming has already begun. The makers shared a picture on Instagram Wednesday to announce the filming. The snap features Anil Kapoor exhibiting an angry expression while firmly holding the hand of another person whose face was not revealed. “From the frontlines to the hometown – a fauji never backs down! Subedaar, Now Filming,” read the side note.
Anupam Kher wrote, “Go for it, my friend (two hearts and a fire emoji)” in a congratulations message for Anil Kapoor. In response to the post, Bhumi Pednekar also posted numerous emojis with raised hands. Anil Kapoor will play the main character in Subedaar, according to a March announcement from Prime Video. In the movie, Anil Kapoor will be playing Subedaar Arjun Singh’s role. The OTT platform posted a picture of the actor sitting in a chair and holding a firearm on Instagram. It is impossible to overlook his icy gaze and stern avatar in the photo. “Subedaar Arjun Singh grapples with civilian life, navigating a strained relationship with his daughter and societal dysfunction in an action-packed drama,” was the caption that went with the photo. To defend his family and home, the man who previously fought for the country must now battle internal adversaries.
Previously, Anil Kapoor talked about Subedaar and disclosed that he is “excited” for the film. The actor said, “I have done a lot of action films, but this is a pure action film, a dramatic action film. I’m excited about it,” in an interaction with variety. Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar is bankrolled by Anil Kapoor, Suresh Triveni and Vikram Malhotra under the banners of Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network Pvt. Ltd, Abundantia Entertainment and Opening Image. The script is penned by Suresh Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar.
