The sequel to the 2018 horror comedy, Street 2, is part of Maddock Films’ Supernatural Universe. The film features a gang fighting a headless ghost, Sarkata. Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee reprise their roles, while Akshay Kumar joins the universe. The film is filled with humor and fantastic performances from the main cast. Street 2 has been successful at the box office, surpassing Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal’s lifetime collection of 554 crore in India and Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror flick Fighter in Australia.
Stree 2 has become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year in Australia, surpassing the A$2 million mark, according to trade analyst Nishit Shaw. The horror comedy, directed by Amar Kaushik, has also surpassed Hrithik Roshan-led Fighter’s A$1.99 million. The film is less than A$1 million away from surpassing Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma’s 2014 movie PK’s A$2.11 million haul. Stree 2 is the 9th highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in Australia and has collected 555.04 crore in India and 780.80 crore globally.
