The producer of the movie, Boney Kapoor, has disregarded Arshad Warsi’s concerns after he disclosed that he was underpaid for choreographing a song in the 1990s movie Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and genuinely saving the production money. “Who would have paid him such a huge amount?” he asked, noting that there had been no agreement made on the payment and that Arshad wasn’t a celebrity at the time. In an interview with Samdish on Unfiltered, Arshad claimed that he was paid Rs 75,000 rather than Rs 1 lakh for choreographing a song for Boney Kapoor’s 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, which starred Sridevi and Anil Kapoor. The actor from Munna Bhai MBBS claimed that he completed his task in three days instead of four, saving the production the expense of one full day. The actor stated that this behaviour is damaging the industry and has to end while discussing the massive salary disparity that exists between A-list celebrities and the general public.
In response to Arshad’s allegations, Boney stated, “I read his statement and I laughed,” in a Bollywood Hungama interview. He’s talking about the movie we shot in 1992. He wasn’t very famous at the time. Who would have given him so much money? He went on to say, “The entire title was directed by film director Pankaj Parashar. It was split into two sections. A portion of the James Bond-style filming took place in Singapore or Hong Kong. Tutu Sharma, Padmini Kolhapure’s husband and producer, was in charge of the production, but there were too many things going on at once.
Additionally, he stated, “We estimated that it would take four days, but Pankaj completed it in three days.” This episode slipped my mind entirely. Per day, he was paid Rs 25,000. He was therefore given Rs 75,000 for three days. It wasn’t the same as (he was given a specific quantity). In response to a question about whether Arshad brought up this episode with Boney Kapoor, the director said, “No.” Together, we were on a TV show. Farah Khan and Malaika Arora also took part in it. It had never come up before, but all of a sudden he talks about it. I am an easy target since everyone wants to be in the media these days.
Arshad had recounted in his first interview, “I went to get my cheque, and they gave me Rs 75,000.” “You should pay me more, I just saved you a whole day’s shoot,” I remarked. “No, it’s Rs 1 lakh for four days and Rs 75,000 for three days,” he responded. He added that it’s likely that Boney Kapoor is unaware of what transpired.
