Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-luminati tour has made waves, not just for its massive success but also for attracting a fair share of controversy. Recently, the singer and his team have landed in hot water over a concert in Chandigarh. The event has sparked legal action, as authorities claim it violated noise pollution norms. Reports say the sound levels in the concert exceeded the permissible limit because the measurements go between 76.1 and 93.1 decibels and are pretty much above the set 75-decibel limit for the area. Meanwhile, the event organizers, Diljit’s team included, are fined at Rs 15 lakh.
This is not the first time Diljit has been in such a controversy. Earlier, in September, a law student by the name of Riddhima Kapoor filed a legal notice against him and the concert organizers, claiming manipulation of ticket prices in violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. On top of that, the Telangana government also banned Diljit from performing songs that had references to alcohol, drugs, or violence, and so he had to revise his lyrics for the shows ahead.
Despite the legal challenges, Diljit’s Dil-luminati tour continues to be a major talking point in the music and entertainment world, though these incidents are beginning to cast a shadow over its otherwise stellar success.
