Anurag Kashyap is teaming up with Amazon Prime Video for a new thriller movie. The film stars Aaishvary Thackeray, the grandson of Shiv Sena’s Bal Thackeray, making his debut in a leading role. The cast also includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, and Kumud Mishra. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s described as an edge-of-the-seat thriller.
In this as-yet-untitled production, Thackeray will appear with Mohammed Zeeshan Ayuub (Article 15), Vineet Kumar Singh (Mukkabaaz), and Kumud Mishra (Ram Singh Charlie). Although specifics of the plot are being withheld, insiders characterize the movie as suspenseful and gripping. Jar Pictures, which is well-known for producing highly acclaimed independent films including Liar’s Dice, Nil Battey Sannata, Gurgaon, Bamfaad, Moothon, Chocked, and the Disney+Hotstar series, Grahan, is producing it with Ajay Rai and Alan McAlex. The movie has already been filmed in Lucknow for a month, and by the end of this month, it should be finished.
Anurag Kashyap and Amazon Prime Video are working together for the first time.Previously, he co-directed the popular series “Sacred Games” for Netflix. This project is the follow-up to Netflix’s 2022 cancellation of “Maximum City” owing to political turmoil.
Amazon Prime Video is expanding into feature films, with five more movies in development.The five feature films that Amazon Prime is currently developing are Be Happy by Abhishek Bachchan, Chhorii 2 by Nushrratt Bharuccha, Subedar by Anil Kapoor, Superboys of Malegaon by Adarsh Gourav and Shashank Arora, and The Mehta Boys by Avinash Tiwary and Boman Irani. This new project also marks the service’s entry into the feature film market.
In the meantime, in September 2024, Kashyap will start filming his Bobby Deol movie again. Sanya Malhotra, Joju George, and Saba Azad play important roles in the production, which is a hard-hitting thriller based on a delicate true story, as we exclusively disclosed in May. This is being produced by Nikhil Dwivedi, with writing credits going to Abhishek Banerjee and Sudip Sharma.
