Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming military action film, 120 Bahadur, promises to be a gripping tribute to the unsung heroes of the 1962 Indo-China war. Set against the backdrop of the historic Battle of Rezang La, the film draws inspiration from the heroic resistance by 120 Indian soldiers led by Major Shaitan Singh, who fought valiantly against a 3,000-strong enemy force.
Marking the 62nd anniversary of the battle, Farhan Akhtar took to Instagram to unveil the film’s first look. In the poster, he is seen in the uniform of an Indian Army officer, his face fierce and determined, with blood-stained teeth as he aims his gun at the enemy. The poster’s tagline reads, “Woh teen hazar the aur hum? (They are three thousand, and what about us?)” The powerful imagery and message encapsulate the spirit of defiance and courage demonstrated by the brave soldiers of Rezang La.
Sharing the poster, Farhan wrote, “It’s been 62 years since 1962. Today, we honour the unparalleled courage and sacrifice of the heroes of Rezang La. 120 Bahadur is our tribute to the valour and indomitable spirit of Major Shaitan Singh and his brave men, who stood their ground against insurmountable odds.” He also paid special homage to the Ahir community, whose sons played a pivotal role in defending the nation during the battle. Farhan highlighted how their story serves as a timeless reminder of the price of freedom and the strength of unity.
Directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai and produced by Excel Entertainment, 120 Bahadur will see Farhan in the role of Major Shaitan Singh, a Param Vir Chakra recipient, who led his men with unparalleled bravery during the conflict.
