Recently, the trend of re-releasing classic Bollywood films in theaters has become extremely popular, with audiences thronging to watch their favorite films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Veer Zaara. These re-releases have not only captured the nostalgia of fans but have also given tough competition to new releases at the box office.
Now, joining the long list of movies being re-released to celebrate its silver jubilee is the Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel starrer Kaho Naa. Pyaar Hai. The film is all set to return to theaters to celebrate its 25th anniversary. It is scheduled to hit theaters on January 10, which happens to be Hrithik’s birthday. Hrithik reflected on this special occasion, “It’s surreal to realize that 25 years have passed since Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai! This milestone is both humbling and motivating. My first film will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m deeply grateful for the love it continues to receive.”
Released in 2000, Kaho Naa. Pyaar Hai marked Hrithik Roshan’s debut and was a massive hit. In the movie, he played a double role—Rohit, an attractive but penniless singer, and Raj, a mysterious man who looks exactly like Rohit. The romantic drama revolves around Rohit’s love for Sonia, the daughter of a rich businessman, played by Ameesha Patel. After Rohit’s untimely death under suspicious circumstances, Sonia is sent abroad to recover from the shock. However, it is when she meets Raj, who looks identical to Rohit, that the story takes a very interesting and emotional turn. This re-release of Kaho Naa. Pyaar Hai is to bring back some of the magic of one of Bollywood’s most iconic films, to celebrate its ongoing popularity among the fans.
