Karan Johar is back at it, relaunching Ananya Panday into the OTT world with a bang! The much-anticipated comedy series Call Me Bae is all set to drop its trailer on August 20. If you thought Ananya’s previous roles were stylish, wait till you see her channel her inner “Bae” in this one!
Prime Video recently took to Instagram to share a new poster featuring Ananya in a striking red and white outfit, casually sitting inside a car with Mumbai’s skyline as the backdrop.
In the caption, Prime Video teased, “All the drama, sass, and fa-Bae-ulousness is about to unfold in just 2 days! #CallMeBaeOnPrime, Sept 6.” And just like that, the comment section lit up! Shanaya Kapoor showed her support with emojis, while Varun Sood hilariously commented, “Main toh kaafi BAE-tab hu !!!!” (Same, Varun, same.) Fans couldn’t contain their excitement, with one eager user commenting, “Can’t wait.”
Ananya, too, joined in on the fun, sharing the poster on her Instagram story with the caption, “#CallMeBae. Trailer out 20th August.” Mark your calendars, folks!
As if that wasn’t enough, the makers of Call Me Bae treated us to a fun new promotional video featuring Ananya and the ever-fabulous Karan Johar. In the clip, Ananya is seen sitting in a spaceship (because why not?), while Karan, channeling his inner director, gives everyone instructions. He quips about her “main character energy,” “glam quotient,” and even her “bank balance.” Ananya, ever the star, interrupts with a smile, asking what he’s up to. Karan, with his trademark wit, replies, “Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek hi baar hoti hai, par launch to baar baar ho sakta hai na.” (We live once, die once, get married once, but launches? Those can happen again and again!)
The video is a light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek take on Ananya’s character Bae, a once-wealthy heiress from South Delhi who is now navigating Mumbai’s chaotic, hustle-bustle life. No more bougie princess roles for Ananya this time, she’s all about the real, raw struggle of a girl trying to make it in the big city.
Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra as Executive Producers, the series marks Ananya Panday’s OTT debut. Written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, and directed by Collin D’Cunha, it’s set to be a wild ride full of laughs, drama, and plenty of style. Catch the premiere on Prime Video on September 6!
