Bollywood is set to witness a fresh and exciting collaboration as Bollywood’s heartthrob macho man Sidharth Malhotra and South Indian sensation Sreeleela join forces for the upcoming film Mitti. Directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua and produced by Murad Khetani, this is already among one of the most talked-about projects even before going on floors. Scheduled to go on floors in October 2024, Mitti brings forth a striking blend of action, emotion, and family drama, all set in the fascinating heartland of North India.
Strong roles aren’t anything new for Sidharth Malhotra, his new role is going to be no exception. In the pocket after months of prep, he is completely ready to dig beneath the skin of this character, which would explore another facet of his abilities. Mitti allows him to dig deep into a rooted storyline that has raw action with strong emotion in a landscape of rural India.
Meanwhile, Sreeleela has been making waves in South Indian cinema and is all set to make her Bollywood debut with this film. Says a source, “She was immediately drawn to the strong, author-backed role and jumped at the chance to work alongside Sidharth.” With everyone looking forward to seeing her entry into Hindi cinema, Mitti can turn out to be a perfect launchpad for her career in Bollywood. Sreeleela has two more Hindi films in her bucket this year to shoot. Diler, a Dinesh Vijan production featuring Prince Pataudi Ibrahim Ali Khan, and Mitti. The actress will be busy shooting for both films in the last months of 2024, with releases expected in 2025. Beyond these Hindi projects, Sreeleela is also involved in several Telugu films, slated for release over the next year. Her most recent appearance was alongside the Hit-machine of South Mahesh Babu in Guntur Kaaram.
With the tight schedule of shooting ahead, Mitti is turning out to be a film that is going to leave a mark. As cameras come closer to roll out, the chemistry of Sidhant and Sreeleela is something everybody is keeping their hopes up for, and now, expectations have risen from this project.
