Nita Ambani, the chairperson and founder of India’s Reliance Foundation, is currently in Paris. A new picture of the Ambani boss lady is going viral on social media from her appearance at a pre-Olympics event in Paris. She is believed to be attending the opening ceremony of the 142nd International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris. Emmanuel Macron, the French President, welcomed her warmly during the ceremony.
The 2024 Summer Olympics, the 33rd edition of this historic quadrennial event, will be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11. With nearly 200 countries likely to compete, the Olympics will have 329 events over 32 sports. The organizing committee has vowed that the opening celebration will be the grandest in Olympic history, setting the stage for an unparalleled display of physical prowess and international togetherness.
A photo released by the Ambani family’s fan page shows Nita Ambani receiving a warm welcome from Emmanuel Macron. He kisses Nita’s hand while the French President and IOC President, Thomas Bach, greet her. The philanthropist, who was busy with her youngest son’s wedding recently, is representing India at the event. For her appearance, she wears a crimson Indian suit featuring elaborate embroidery. Nita’s choice of outfit reflects her love for local weavers and Indian craftsmanship.
Speaking about the importance of the India House, which is a first-of-a-kind establishment at the Olympic Games, Nita earlier told the media: “It is with enormous joy and enthusiasm that I declare the first-ever India House at the Paris Olympics. The IOC session in India last year, the first in 40 years, marked an important milestone in our Olympic journey. And we are excited to build on this momentum with the opening of India House, a location where we shall honour our athletes, celebrate our victories, share our experiences, and welcome the globe to India.”
She added, “We truly believe that India House will be one more step in achieving the shared aspiration of 1.4 billion Indians of bringing the Olympic Movement to India!”
India House intends to showcase India’s talent, potential, and ambition to the world, by providing an abundance of experiences for fans to involve themselves, including culture, arts, and sports, as well as culinary treats and experiences such as yoga, handicrafts, music, and shows by Indian dance groups.
