The protagonist of the movie is Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of Hindu mythology’s seven perpetual immortals, also known as Chiranjeevis. He is regarded as a warrior sage and a representation of fortitude, repentance, and vengeance. Although the mythological figure of Parashurama is frequently portrayed as the protector Vishnu’s avatar, he is also well-known for his fiery temper and his position as a strong warrior who carries an axe that was bestowed to him by God. The main themes of Parashurama’s life and legend are his fight against internal and external oppression and his pursuit of dharma, or fairness.
The Mahabharata, the Ramayana, and other Puranas all depict Parashurama as a terrible warrior and a knowledgeable teacher. Mahavatar attempts to convey this complexity by portraying Parashurama as a multi-layered character negotiating the dichotomy of peace and conflict. Generations have been motivated by his mission to purge the planet of corrupt rulers.
November 2025 is when the movie will start production. Remarkably, this is Vicky Kaushal’s second Maddock Films film after Chaava.
