Priyanka Chopra will play a female pirate in the action drama thriller in which Ismael Cruz Cordova appears.
Breakout star of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Ismael Cruz Cordova, says of working with Priyanka Chopra, “it was a gift to work with her.” Chopra is widely regarded as one of India’s greatest national treasures. Priyanka will play a female pirate in the action drama flick, and Ismael will be a part of the ensemble cast. “The cherished national treasure of India… She’s amazing, what a gift. She is a true superstar in every way. Ismael described himself to PTI in an interview promoting the second season of the fantasy drama on Prime Video as “gentle, charming, and an amazing leader.
“She does every trick she knows, not afraid to get her hands dirty. It’s also lovely to have…Everyone in this cast looks up to her as the leader. We all felt protected in that movie because of the lovely tone she set. I was merely incredibly honoured to be with her. Her work is amazing. That’s why it’s so unique. The actor, who is well-known for his roles in the films Mary Queen of Scots and Miss Bala as well as on Sesame Street, added, “I’m grateful.” The Rings of Power’s second season is something Ismael is excited about because it launches on Prime Video this Thursday. The show, which is based on the appendices of JRR Tolkien’s renowned book series, stars him as Arondir, an elf.
Being one of the first persons of colour to play an elf in the Tolkien universe, the actor was asked about the trolling he received on social media after making an appearance in the first season. He responded that racism is illogical and that the only way to deal with it is to live life to the fullest. “I believe that I have the right to live as fully, healthily, and gloriously as everyone else. The most extreme thing I can do is that. Simply live this life, he continued, and show myself as authentically and nuancedly as you can.The singer-songwriter Chappell Roan, who called out the abusive behaviour of fans and spoke about creating boundaries, is among the numerous musicians who have discussed the types of harassment they experience as public personalities, according to the actor. “I’ve made it quite obvious that I don’t approve of this kind of energy or harassment directed at public figures. My job description doesn’t include anything about us having to put up with any of this. It simply isn’t acceptable.
“However, the love and support he has received from Tolkien universe lovers is what makes things better for him. “It’s kind of amazing that we’re still here and getting so much love in spite of all the negativity coming our way because we stand for something wonderful to a lot of people across numerous nations and continents. “Those people might not have the loudest voice, but they’re very meaningful and consistent in their support towards us,” Ismael continued.
Tyroe Muhafidin, his co-star, expressed similar feelings, stating that the fact that they were cast for their acting qualities rather than their skin tone was one of the show’s most lovely parts. The most lovely thing about being cast for this program was that our roles were chosen based on our acting abilities rather than just our appearance. And I believe we should arrive at that. It ought not to matter. We are all just people, so it shouldn’t matter in any situation,” the actor, who plays Theo in the show, remarked.
Ismael claimed that taking on the role of Arondir, a brand-new character that isn’t based on any particular character from Tolkien’s books, has been a gift for him. The plot of JD Payne and Patrick McKay’s first season of The Rings of Power focused on Arondir’s forbidden love for Bronwyn, a human healer from the Southlands played by Nazanin Boniadi. He is really honourable and has a really strong sense of responsibility, even at the detriment of himself. It’s such a great journey. In addition, he talked about the tension and wonder he has between his humanity and albinism, and how, most importantly, everything seems to be guided by love.
Morfydd Clark, Charlie Vickers, Charles Edwards, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Benjamin Walker, Peter Mullan, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Trystan Gravelle, Maxim Baldry, Markella Kavenagh, and Megan Richards are among the other actors that will appear in The Rings of Power season two.
