Sania Mirza, regarding the hardships with fame, placed her son’s needs before taking care of being a healthy all-rounder between her professionalism and mothering. Just weeks ago, newly appointed Dubai Sports Ambassador Sania Mirza maintains a successful track record as long as she always keeps her parenting on the other end. Whether it is operating tennis academies or appearing at all public functions and events, when it comes to her son’s needs, everyone takes a backstage seat. “No matter what I do in my life, my son Izhaan is always going to be my priority,” she says, adding that she tries to plan her work around him as much as possible.
She also spoke about how she ensures that she doesn’t leave Izhaan for too long and travels only for work if absolutely necessary. Mirza, who became a mother in 2018, says she manages to balance everything, even if it means being away for just a night or two for professional commitments.
Being a very visible public figure, Mirza also feels the weight of being constantly in the spotlight. She admits that fame brings with it a sense of responsibility rather than pressure. “More than the pressure, I feel a sense of responsibility. I feel there are so many kids who look up to you, so you have a certain sense of responsibility about how you conduct yourself,” she explains. Despite the expectations, Mirza emphasizes the importance of staying true to herself. “I try to be myself as much as I can in the public eye. I feel humbled and honored to be in this position. I speak from my heart,” she adds.
There have been talks of a biopic about her life, but Mirza says that she hasn’t received any formal offers lately unless her managers are keeping that to themselves. Yet, her journey as a tennis icon and mother continues to inspire, and fans remain eager to see her story come to life on screen.
