Sanjay Dutt was withdrawn from the Son of Sardaar sequel set to be shot in the United Kingdom when ‘Ajay Devgn’s team heard that the actor’s visa request had been rejected’.
Son of Sardaar (2012) is eager to get the ball rolling on Son of Sardaar 2, its sequel, after over ten years since its debut. In the follow-up, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt were supposed to square off once more.
Sanjay Dutt was dropped from the Son of Sardaar 2 movie, which is being shot in Scotland, due to his UK visa application being rejected due to his past incarceration. Dutt has applied for a UK visa multiple times since his 1993 arrest, but never received one. His team replaced him with Ravi Kishan after discovering the visa request was rejected. The movie stars Mrunal Thakur.
A source confirmed that Sanjay’s visa issues may affect the shoot of Housefull 5, a comedy starring Akshay Kumar, which is set to be shot in London in September. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has chosen a wiser route, allowing Sanju’s portions to be filmed in Mumbai, ensuring no issues with Sanjay’s visa issues.
Sanjay was arrested in 1993 for violating the Arms Act and TADA for possessing illegal weapons in the 1993 Bombay bombings. He was sentenced to five years in prison, which was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2013. After multiple bails, he completed his sentence in 2016.
Son of Sardaar 2 stars Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt as Billu and Jassi respectively, with the film set to follow a fresh start from the first movie. Sanjay Dutt’s character will be played by actor-politician Ravi Kishan, adding an antagonistic element to the story.
