Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited Singham Again is all set to wave the flag, marking a big Hindi film release in Oceania. The movie will be released on 197 screens across Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji; it surpasses every other Indian movie release in this region. It also stands as a milestone since this is the first Indian language film to be screened in a Drive-In Cinema, in Sydney. This has seen 143 screens being reserved for the film alone in Australia, marking it as the largest Indian release ever in the country.
Adding to the fervor, Singham Again also enters new territory with high-octane action interwoven with a narrative inspired by the Ramayana. Ajay Devgn comes back in his iconic avatar but this time with a mythological twist, sharing screen space with a bevy of stars. It is being presented with Deepika Padukone as Vibhishana, Ranveer Singh as Hanuman, Kareena Kapoor Khan as Sita, Tiger Shroff as Lakshman, Akshay Kumar as Garuda, and Arjun Kapoor as Ravana. This powerful star cast is sure to give an unforgettable experience in cinemas.
However, even before its release, the CBFC made a few cuts to ensure that it meets all age groups. The reports suggest the board has reduced 7 to 12 minutes of footage. Among those, Ranveer Singh’s Simmba playful flirting dialogues have been removed, and there are a few scenes where it went too close for a family audience. Along with it, the CBFC is seeking some minor adjustments on the visuals based on themes that have something related to the Ramayana, in such a manner that cultural sentiments get well maintained while the fun value is not hurt.
Once again, with the support of Jio Studios, Singham will be another action spectacle combined with the power of storytelling. Coming during festival time, this film will surely connect audiences who would like heart-thumping action and those willing to settle for stories steeped in tradition and mythology.
The film has been in high hopes due to its record-breaking screen count and its unique blend of drama, emotion, and mythology, making it expected to be a blockbuster this Diwali. Be it catching it at a multiplex or experiencing it at the historic Sydney drive-in screening, one thing is quite evident – Rohit Shetty’s latest installment is all set to dominate the box office and set new benchmarks for Indian cinema worldwide.
