Following years of success in Bollywood, Riteish Deshmukh has been making a name for himself in the Marathi film industry. In 2022, he made his directorial debut with Ved, which earned positive reviews from reviewers. Actor-director Raja Shivaji, which is based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, will now be directed by him. He will also make an appearance in Housefull’s sixth installment. In a recent interview, Riteish discussed his experiences in the Hindi and Marathi entertainment sectors as well as his definition of professional success.
Riteish Deshmukh has had remarkable success in the Marathi cinema business. “Being an actor was never my plan; I’m an accidental actor,” he told Etimes when asked to compare his experience in regional cinema to that of Bollywood. To be honest, I always assumed that my first movie would be my last. Everybody has a different definition of success. Success is a personal concept to me.
Riteish Deshmukh, a movie buff who grew up watching films, reflected on his career and thanked God for the chance. Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Mithun Chakraborty, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan are among the famous actors he has always admired and discussed working with. Riteish said, “I define success as sharing the screen with them.” Therefore, it doesn’t really matter if I’ve achieved great success in Marathi cinema or performed well in Hindi. I don’t use those criteria to judge myself. Additionally, Riteish Deshmukh made his debut in the Marathi reality TV market by hosting Bigg Boss Marathi 5 in lieu of Mahesh Manjrekar.
“I think that instead of being burdened by the success, one should take responsibility for the work you’ve taken on and do it with utmost sincerity,” he said in response to a question concerning the season’s success. Early in life, I came to understand that you have no control over the results of your efforts.
Riteish Deshmukh reflected on his early days and revealed that gaining the audience’s approval was his top priority as a debutant. Although his reputation as a comedic actor helped him at first, it took him some time to make a name for himself in other genres. Movies like Ved, Lai Bhaari, and Ek Villain helped him expand his repertoire.
