Anad stated that he ‘absolutely’ has intentions to move the series forward in a conversation with News18 Showsha. There should be a third installment of Tanu Weds Manu. The reason for this is that Madhavan and Kangana both portrayed those wonderfully gorgeous personas. “Those characters grew to be somewhat important than the story itself,” he remarked.
The director also disclosed that at first, there were no intentions to create a Tanu Weds Manu sequel. “Datto is a new character that we introduced with Tanu Weds Manu Returns.” All of these characters are requesting a third installment. We’ll pursue it as soon as we have a compelling story—one that Tanu, Manu, and Datto deserve, he continued.

Just as Raanjhanaa differed from Atrangi Re, and Atrangi Re differs greatly from Haseen Dillruba, so did the dynamics in Tanu Weds Manu. I showed a girl who smokes and drinks in Tanu Weds Manu, and because I didn’t judge her as a filmmaker, neither did my viewers.
