Director Vivek Agnihotri, known for his impactful films such as The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War, is making waves once again with his latest project, The Delhi Files. He recently revealed that this highly anticipated film will be divided into two parts, with the first installment titled The Bengal Chapter slated for a grand release on August 15, 2025, India’s Independence Day.
Agnihotri took to social media to share the exciting news, emphasizing the significance of the story he aims to tell. He wrote, “MARK YOUR CALENDAR: August 15, 2025. The film’s announcement coincided with the release of a striking poster featuring the silhouette of a child raising a hand toward the national emblem, symbolizing hope and national pride.
Starring an impressive cast that includes Pallavi Joshi Agnihotri’s wife and co-producer alongside veterans Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, Govind Namdev, Babbu Maan, and Palomi Ghosh, The Bengal Chapter promises to deliver a powerful narrative rooted in historical events.
In a recent interview, Agnihotri praised Mithun Chakraborty, who recently won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, stating, “Mithun da is one of the best actors India has produced, not only because of his performances but also because of his understanding of cinema. I wasn’t lucky enough to work with him in his younger days when he was ruling the single screen. He was the biggest star at the single-screen box office.”
The Delhi Files marks Agnihotri’s third entry into his research-based film series that explores real-life incidents that have left a significant mark on the nation.
