The highly awaited Border 2, the A sequel to the beloved 1997 film Border, is now formally underway, and fans are crazy with curiosity. Resuming his legendary role, Sunny Deol will carry on the narrative that fascinated viewers more than twenty years ago.
In June, the creators released an announcement video that included an update of the iconic song “Sandese Aate Hai” with vocals by Bobby Deol. In addition, the trailer hinted that Border 2 will be “India’s biggest war film,” which would only heighten the excitement.
J P Dutta, his daughter Nidhi Dutta, and her husband Binnoy K Gandhi are the producers of the family film Border 2.
Border 2 Origins Explained by Binnoy K. Gandhi
Binnoy, whose directing debut Ghudchadi is scheduled for premiere on August 9, discussed some details about the much awaited film in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. “After seeing the movie Border, everyone of us who had grown up watching it wanted to join the army! Border 2 is developing rapidly. The screenplay was written by my wife, Nidhi Dutta.
“My first thought upon reading it was, ‘Wow, your father has written a great script,'” he continued. Then she admitted that it was her writing. I laughed, refusing to believe. Subsequently, her coworker verified that Nidhi was the author of the text. That was among my proudest memories. It’s also challenging to match the first section. And this girl, who yearns to visit Disneyland every July, all of a sudden creates Border a screenplay that fits him (laughs)! That was the beginning of the sequel’s adventure. For now, everything is going well. We intend to begin filming in November,” he disclosed.
The cast of the movie will soon be revealed during a major event
There has been a lot of gossip on the cast, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Diljit Dosanjh being mentioned. Binnoy K. Gandhi, though, said nothing about the matter. “The star cast will be announced soon,” he said. We’re planning a major event in less than a month where the whole celebrity cast will be on display, complete with costumes and character makeup’. Anurag Singh, who is well-known for his work on Kesari (2019), will direct the picture. He pledges to give the cherished franchise a new, yet recognisable, vitality.
