Rahi Anil Barve the Director of Tumbbad passed his legacy to producer-actor Sohum Shah and co-director Adesh Prasad for Tumbbad 2. Rahi Anil’s Tumbbad is screening now, and the next sequel is on its way which will be released. Now Rahi Anil is taking an exit from Tumbbad 2. He wishes good luck to producer-actor Soham Shah and co-director Adesh Prasad.
Rahi took his social media handle to announce, and it captions “For decades, I have worked on this insane trilogy with many producers changing in between. First was the greed of patriarchy (Tumbbad). My personal and much darker version of father, son and the holy ghost. The second deals with the dawn of feminism and holier than holy satipratha — Pahadpangira. Third, the end of this trilogy will be Pakshitirtha. That’s all I have to say for now.” “I wish Sohum and Aadesh all the best for Tumbbad II. I have no doubts it will be an outstanding success. Following the completion of Gulkanda Tales and Raktabhramand by the end of this year, I plan to start production on Pahadpangira in March 2025,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sohum commented “Congratulations mere bhai for Gulkanda and Raktabrahmand or jaldi Sai shuru kar de (start soon) pahadpangira. Maza aayega.” Rahi thanked Sohum and wrote, “I am always there for you. Thanks for everything,” to which Sohum replied, “Likewise (flying kiss emoji).”
Adesh added, “Thank you, @rahianilbarve,” to Rahi’s post. It’s no secret that I support you no matter what. Seeing all of your dreams come true, knowing that they were all well-earned and hard-won, makes my heart swell with love, pride, and joy.
Anand Gandhi, who worked as the first sequel creative director, recently stated on X that he will not be appearing in Tumbbad 2. With the upcoming horror-comedy series Gulkanda Tales and Raktabhramand, which are produced and co-written by Raj & DK, Rahi has already got his hands full in the meantime.
Tumbbad has made more money at the domestic box office during its rerun than it did during its 2018 premiere, taking in ₹13.44 crore. Tumbbad, which is based in a Maharashtra village and is presented by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, is produced by Sohum Shah Films and follows Vinayak Rao (Sohum) as he searches for a fabled wealth that is kept safe by the evil Hastar.
