Kannada superstar Yash is all geared up to recreate magic on screen with his forthcoming film titled Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The new period drama of 1940s gangsters, helmed by Geetu Mohandas, is something that keeps making headlines due to its scale and grandeur. Recently, on August 8th, Yash dropped an intriguing behind-the-scenes photo with the movie producer. This just kept the excitement level going among the fans of the actor. Since Toxic sounds promising as another big hit to come from Yash, the latest moves are only increasing the eagerness.
The film commenced its shooting on the outskirts of Bengaluru with a mammoth 20-acre set that will authentically recreate the era of the 1940s. The set has been intricately created by the production design team, promising to transport the audience back in time into the era-a new world with its nuances and vigor, both in detail and life-like.
Toxic is on a very large scale as it has 1,000 member crews and its shooting is happening on a very large scale. Director Geetu Mohandas is currently canning some crucial scenes of Yash. The actor has an ensemble cast comprising Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi. While Nayanthara essays Yash’s sister, Advani essays his lady love.
Apart from the leads, there is a whopping cast of 450 actors, inclusive of some 300 foreign support actors for a crucial sequence. The cast and crew are very committed; even as they faced adversities like heavy rains causing multiple interruptions in the shooting, often deep into the night they worked to keep the production on schedule.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups-a saga of the drug mafia operating between the 1940s and the 1970s, in which Yash is fitted as a slick gangster-promises to be a far cry from the kind of cinema he has done so far, as his body of work is quite eclectic. Produced by Yash’s Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions, filming commenced in June 2024 and resumed in September. The film will hit the theatres on April 10, 2025.
While shooting continues on the grand 1940s-themed sets in Bengaluru, Toxic shapes up to be one of the most awaited films this year. The grandiose scale of the production, coupled with the star-studded cast and promises of an intriguing storyline, makes Yash’s Toxic a cinematic spectacle nobody would want to miss.
